‘The Twilight Zone’: Jordan Peele To Host & Narrate CBS All Access Reboot
Academy Award winner Jordan Peele is about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound — but of mind. Peele is set as host and narrator of The Twilight Zone reboot on CBS All Access.

CBS announced last year that it would revive The Twilight Zone for streaming service CBS All Access with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films.

The Get Out director will explore similar creepy dimensions like the “sunken place” in the forthcoming CBS All Access series, which will be a modern reimagining of the original, which premiered in 1959 and continued through 1964. Creator Rod Serling also served as original host and narrator — and he had a very distinct and memorable voice. In the clip of the host announcement below, you’ll hear a mix of Serling and Peele’s voices doing the iconic opening intro.

Movistar + Has a Very Good Year for Scripted Productions

Movistar + Has a Very Good Year for Scripted Productions
Starting with the launch of high-fashion melodrama “Velvet Collection” on Sept. 22 last year, followed by seven more scripted productions to date, the launch of original series from Spain’s Movistar Plus has helped stem the company’s loss of pay-tv subscribers. In 2016, pay-tv clients dropped 0.4% year on year. But in 2017, pay-tv accesses were up 5%, or 92,100 customers, to 3.848 million by year-end. It remains to be seen, after Movistar Plus renewed Champions League and La Liga Spanish league soccer rights, how much subs may grow this September. Most to the point, however, average revenue per subscriber of Movistar Plus’ bundled broadband-tv-mobile customers

Movistar + Expands Its International Reach
In budget, and even maybe cinematographic values, the weightiest world premiere at this year’s San Sebastian Festival, the biggest movie event in the Spanish-speaking world, will be a TV drama: Movistar Plus’ “Gigantes,” a brutal Madrid crime family saga.

Another Movistar+ original series, Paco Leon’s “Arde Madrid,” a comedy shot in black-and-white about the antics and tribulations of Ava Gardner’s domestic staff in 1961 Madrid, has potential as a crowd-pleaser.

The premium pay-tv operator is seeking to create content that will set it apart from rivals, and “Gigantes” and “Arde Madrid,” its ninth and 10th original series, form

Supernatural Season 14 Trailer: [Spoiler] Is Ok With Killing Dean?!

The quest to take down the Apocalypse World archangel Michael might require killing Dean Winchester — and one member of the Supernatural family is seemingly fine with that in a new trailer for Season 14 (premiering Thursday, Oct. 11 on The CW).

“Michael needs to be stopped,” Jack says in the above video. When Cas replies that would mean Dean’s demise, the Nephilim simply responds, “Then he dies.”

Hey, kid, that’s one of your many pseudo-fathers you’re talking about! On the other hand, Michael really is up to no good in his new vessel — “You don’t recognize me with this pretty face?

The Five Scariest Movie Mothers of the 80s

Keep in mind the 80s was kind of a messed-up decade when it came to movies since so many things were coming out to appease so many different tastes. You kind of had to know that some of the mothers seen in movies were just going to be over the top and out of control. But hey, people liked it and people responded to it, so what’s the harm? ‘Seau’ Review: ESPN’s Thoughtful Tribute to the ’90s Football Star Captures Everything Thrilling and Terrifying About the Sport
Watching a documentary about Junior Seau was never going to be an objective experience for me.

On long car rides to visit my grandparents in Oceanside, CA, I would bring along years of Chargers media guides, replete with decades of records, statistics, and game results I would try committing to memory as if they were holy texts. In the mid-’90s, the same defensive megastar would grace those covers year after year. It’s the same man, captured in his signature celebration pose, whose No. 55 jersey I would wear one Halloween as a scrawny grade-schooler posing as an NFL great. Wearing that plastic helmet would be the closest I’d come to playing football myself, but to this day, at the bottom of a dresser drawer, I still have a 1995 Afc Championship shirt. Guess who’s the only player on it.

With Netflix’s “Set It Up” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” being credited for helping revive the popularity of romantic comedies, it’s no surprise that Ted Sarandos has the syrupy-sweet genre on his mind.
